Tatiana Cortes5 StarOn my Spring Break vacation when I suddenly got a crippling pain on the right side of my face. This was the 2nd day I was looking for someone to take me in. I was vomiting from the pain and the massive amount of Tylenol I had been taking. I was ready to book a flight back home. I could NOT stand my pain. I called on a SUNDAY morning and the receptionist was very nice and understanding when I explained my situation to her. She booked me for the same day. When I got to the office they took an Xray turns out I had cracked my wisdom tooth in half. Dr. Sharmin saw the pain I was in. He immediately put the area to sleep while I waited for the oral surgeon to remove my tooth. I do not have dental insurance so they explained the cost which was VERY responsable and I was able to enjoy the rest of my trip. THANK YOU !!Monday 11th March 2024
Anthony Penaloza1 StarI HAVE PAPERWORK/ DOCUMENTATION AS PROOF: Please read this review entirely because my review will without any doubt, save you from disappointment, frustration and wasted time to say the least… Possibly even worse! I will admit and take full accountability, that this is where I went wrong from the start. I should’ve read the reviews before I went ahead to schedule a visit. I could’ve saved myself a lot of wasted energy and time but GOD does work in mysterious ways, He saved me! The only positive result that came away from this whole experience was that I didn’t continue forward as their patient, thank GOD! So this is what happened, my dental need was for a bad cavity filling in one of my back teeth that makes it unbearable to chew, so I can’t eat nor drink on that back side. Imagine that discomfort and obstacle that I have lived with all day, everyday smh. I was first seen by Dr. Sharmin for my initial consultation and exam, he then referred me to Dr. Mojd ( Endodontic ) who was nice and helpful, suggested that I come back to repair and restore the refilling. This is when it went downhill, on my way out the female staff who work the front desk and including the office manager, all lack professionalism and competence which revealed a major red flag. Both Martha and Lauria refused to schedule me until I could receive a confirmation from my insurance company for payment verification authorization. Unless they said, I can pay out of pocket then I can schedule. *HERE’S THE KICKER! When I told them that I can’t pay out of pocket and after the insurance company called them to discuss authorization, they switched up saying that their office doesn’t do this type of work and that I need to go else where. **THE SAD PART: is that they admitted to my insurance on a recorded call that would only see me if I pay out of pocket, so which one is it? This is how they got caught up in their lies, so now they are confirming to schedule me for the procedure ( they claim, they don’t do at their office. ) only if I pay out of pocket. ***ESCALATED THE CALL TO OFFICE MANAGER: She was no help, undermined me, dismissive was more confused than me and didn’t even know what was going on other than that I couldn’t get scheduled.
Conclusion: I’m just blessed that I didn’t get the procedure completed at the office because now after I have read all the bad reviews, the doctors might’ve seemed nice to me when I met them at first glance but according to all the bad experiences, I was saved from further disappointment and agony. JUST STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE BECAUSE MY NEXT COMPLAINT IS GOING TO THE DC DENTAL SOCIETY, DC DEPT OF HEALTH, AMERICAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION, ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE CONSUMERS AFFAIRS COMPLAINT DEPT and with the Better Business Bureau. I have to do this for everyone who has fallen victim and to save anyone else from future trauma and distress.Thursday 25th July 2024
Taren Smith1 StarFirst impressions. I called to make an emergency appointment because I was referred. The receptionist told me to go back to my previous dentist(what if that was a traumatizing experience?), also I was told the doctor was out the country. However, If I was a patient there, you had a dentist on staff. You should not send patients away in need of emergency services becuse they are a new patient nor tell them to go back to the previous dentist. DO BETTER WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. The front dest staff is the first interaction with the patients.Friday 14th June 2024
Stephanie Wade5 StarDr. Shermin Dental Clinic is the best dentist in Washingon D.C. I've been a patient of his office for 20 years now, Dr. Shermin and his team care about their patients and they do the best dental work I've seen. I will not go to any other dentist in Washington D.C. area. They have treated me for teeth cleanings, root canals, pulling 2 of my teeth as well as a abscess due to a infection in my tooth. They treated me with the correct pain medication as well as antibiotics then schedule me to return for my procedureSaturday 5th August 2023
General Price2 StarDr Sharmin is a good dentist. The same cannot be said about staff at the front desk. When you inquire to them, they will bang the phone on you. They even say you do not have to come as they will be getting paid. They are very rude. They speak rudely to you. The worst front desk you will go. Sharmin needs to change the staff that he has. I know a lot that have went to other services.Wednesday 8th June 2022
