I never write negative Google Reviews only positive ones, but my experience at Chavis is worth making an exception for. I went into Chavis Dental for an annual checkup and dental cleaning, after confirming they took my insurance. I reconfirmed estimated payment when checking in, and a total of 3 times during the appointment. Long story short, I left that day having received no services, other than the x-rays. And a few days later received a bill for over double the amount I was expected to pay. The cost of service was wildly misrepresented!! Short story slightly longer: It had been a while since I had seen a dentist so when I showed up, I was told I needed to schedule a deep cleaning instead of the annual cleaning. I was also convinced to get an additional second x-rays done and told that I would have to cover one out of pocket but assured that the checkup fee and other x-ray would be covered by insurance. I consented to the second x-ray only because I was told the first would be covered. The staff was very kind in bearing with me and explaining insurance/estimated cost multiple times, and then accordingly booked me for a follow up a few weeks later. Luckily, I landed up having to reschedule my follow up appointment and received the bill of services before my second appointment. I was more than a little surprised to see that very little was covered by insurance, especially after having this conversation with Chavis multiple time. I also found out later when speaking to my insurance company that had they done the xrays on two separate days, more would have been covered. I was also told by my insurance (Cigna) that apparently Chavis had not renewed their contract with Cigna for the last couple of years. Which leads me to believe that all the information I received in the office was dated and just purely incorrect. So all in all, this has been a terrible and expensive experience, and a time suck, where I received no services or copies of my xrays. Do not recommend.

Recently had my 6 month cleaning and 2 cavities filled. Wanted to give a shout out to Dr. Chavis and his team! The ladies at the front desk are always nice and friendly. The dental hygienist was great and kept me informed and always told me what she was doing before she would start. As someone who does not particularly care for dental cleanings- she gave me peace of mind. She also gave me some tips for oral hygiene and answered all my questions. Also a shout out to Selena! She was so kind during my cavity filling- definitely made the experience a lot better! She slowly and carefully explained post procedure care. Definitely appreciated her kind touch! Very quick and efficient visit!

Dr. Chavis has been my dentist for over 10 years. He is excellent at identifying problems that exist and potential problems that can be headed off. I appreciate his willingness to thoroughly explain my dental health and my treatment options. His attention to detail is meticulous, as is his restoration work, which borders on being a work of art. He makes me feel like a valued patient, as does his whole staff. I am more than satisfied.

Dr Chavis has been my dentist for 31 years. I can't imagine going to any other dentist. He is thorough, professional, caring and trustworthy. The staff members are also friendly and professional. The office is meticulously clean.
